Labara founders are Dato Gagua and Shalva Sikharulidze.

 

“We lived comfortable lifes with our families in the USA, but left for Georgia for a good reason – to start writing our own history in the motherland with 8000-year-old winemaking tradition.

 

The idea was to develop a winery in the Imereti, village Vartsikhe, that would make it popular destination again for wine enthusiasts, attract more visitors and create opportunities for locals. The name of the winery was selected accordingly. Labara is an ancient Kolkhetian (historic west Georgia) word, that means sunny area is full of life”
